30 over and 60 over,

which I caught this morning. I must be crazy, if they were syaku-amago and SATSUKI...

I had free time only in the morning, headed for KANOGAWA main stream. Stated fishing 5:45AM, crazy Lance... But I know you had no option...

There were a few spotty rises. Several species' spinner were seen there. This ERUMON_HIRATA was one of them. I grabbed the lure tackle for short time investigation.

7:15AM first fish was 30 over UGUI(dace), caught by the reaction movement of spoon at the bottom.

63cm(25inches), NIGOI(Barbel steed). Also reaction around the bottom was effective. He was so tough boy, anyway.

Fishing with her

Since we came to IZUNAGAOKA city today, dropped into KANOGAWA .

She likely still loves fishing itself.

I grabbed fly and lure rod though, there was not any rises because of low temperature.

This UGUI, dace was only one I caught today. Where is my SATSUKI...

It was only a few hours in the morning, but precious time for us.

The fresh verdure of tree was so bright.

Can't help going fishing...

Today was the last holiday as temporary single life for me. I was so exhausted by two days all fishing trip though, couldn't help going there... Just crazy, Lance...

Since I got up late, arrived at first hole around noon.

This is one of Japanese native fish, OIKAWA, Freshwater Minnow.

That's it. Don't ask me anything, guys.

Said good-bye to KANOGAWA around 3 o'clock because of strong cold wind.

As just an addition; KIROKAWAKAGEROU's dun. First time to see there for me.

Let me try it soon on warm day again. Now my new goal is to catch SATSUKI by lure and SHYAKU_AMAGO by fly so far.

SATSUKIMASU

is sea-run AMAGO trout. Today, I grabbed the lure fishing rod after so long interval, and went to KANOGAWA mainstream to catch SATSUKIMASU with Mr. Gold and YZ-san. It was 4th fishing trip to KANOGAWA water system for me.

ISOHIYODORI, Blue Rock Thrush welcomed us. Hope this blue bird give us a good luck.



My first cast gave me this fish NIGOI, Barbel Steed. So strong tug! I thought might be SATSUKI...







YZ-san hooked huge wild rainbow, looked like 50cm class.
But it had gone just in front of him breaking his line. Goddess!

It was so exciting and fantastic trip for us today. I had a new understanding of the lure fishing. It was so effective method in searching wide range quickly.

First Post from New House

Today as just two days before our moving in, I was here in new house for several preparation like Internet connection.

So far it seems good connection, and this is memorial first post from our new house.

The right pic is the light of dinning room, likely my wife did good selection!

By the way, I got this wonderful prize from Mr. Gold as big boss. It was for MVP of our Salmon fishing trip last month.

His handmade minnow lure looks so fantastic. Let me try it soon, Mr. Gold, if I've done for all set up of new house...

Picnic and Fishing

Mr. & Mrs. L and my family went NIAGARA SPRINGS near Hagerman for picnic and fishing. Weather was so good, but sunshine was too strong.

It was just spring creek, and water was very clear.

We could find the fish easily. They all seemed to be hatchery fish.

A landscape aroud there was also good, so we could enjoy our lunch very much!

I tried dry fly first, and caught small one. But the reaction of fish for dry fly was not so good, next I tried nymph.

Then I could catch them easily! Size was not so huge, but I enjoyed their fight so much.

We tried the pond close to that creek also. It was easier to catch than creek.

This boat was used in the pond for enjoyable cruise only, and was not used for fishing.

We had a good time together. Thank you, Mr. & Mrs. L!!

Finally I tried the pond which is for family fishing.

Of course there were hatchery fish only, but it enough for us to enjoy fishing with my daughter.





I tried smoke trout also. It was better than I expected!

My birthday(Surprise, Fishing, Super Ball)

On the day before my birthday, we had a lunch at Thai restaurant with my American colleague's family and his friends. After main meal, he prepared surprise birth day ice cake with candle for me. I felt shy a little, but very pleased.





On my birthday my daughter and I went to nearby pond(1 min. by car) for fishing together, while my wife made dinner. Although our target fish was Bass and tried with Lure tackle, couldn't get any luck. But, the old couple caught some rainbow trouts with power bait in front of us.

I didn't know there was rainbow trout! Though it might be hatchery one, it was enough for playing I thought. It may be good training for fly fishing also. After that, we played in the park with a slide, and returned home.

We really enjoyed dinner watching Super Ball on TV from 16:00. The game was continued until 20:00, but was so fun! I spent a good birthday with my family. Thanks to my wife and daughter. My slogan of this year is 'Balance(for everything)'

One good Rainbow

I had just a little time for fishing today, so I went urban Boise River. But it blowed so strong and time was limitted for me, I did lure fishing.

Reaction of fish was almost none, but I could get one chance. It was not so big, but good size for this river I think. 15inch(39cm)

I hope to catch good one by fly within this year.

Big one and Small one

Yesterday, I worked so hard(after Viedo Conference), and I was worn out. So I decided to take compensatory day off today. Of course, I said good-bye to my family and headed for river(with wife's permission).

1St Hole : Recently I vist this Hole First.
There are small rises. They seem to eat someting under the water. I selected Zebra Midge without hesitating.

And, I caught a good one first after long time. I really enjoyed the reaction of living body. He wears so beautiful color!

After releasing, I tried same pattern again, but there is no reaction. I changed the fly to imerger(looks like pheasant tail), and some bite occured, but it wasn't hooked. Finally I caught small one(about 12inchs). After that, rises was getting disappeared, I decide to move.

2nd Hole : Near the first place to visit with Hide

While I was looking next hole, I hit upon plan to test the Lure Fishing just for a change. I tryed Lure Fishing at 2nd hole(new hole to me) for a little while. As a result, I caught also good & beatiful one which is 17inchs(43cm) by Vixen70mmF .

But, I felt strongly again, Lure Fishing is not elegant here & now(especially the spawning season). And I finished it, decide to aim at rising fish by fly.

Pass the written driver examination & No luck in Eagle

After last Friday's fail, I managed to study IDAHO Driver's Manual. And finally I passed the written driver examination with score of 37/40 ! Next, I have only to pass the drving skills test on Monday.

After written examination, I dropped in Boise River around Eagle, and attempted Lure Fishing. But there is no reaction ... in other words, no sign of any fish.

Lure Fishing Urban Boise River

Today, our family was going to park in Boise. On the way to park, I dropped in Urban Boise River, and tried Lure Fishing after long time.

Of course, I want to try Fly Fishing in IDAHO & OREGON basically. But, I feel that Lure Fishing is convenient when the time is limitted.

As a result, I cought 4 fish in a hour(3 Brown & 1 Rainbow). Though Size of fish wasn't so big, I took pleasure in Lure Fishing! It saved the trouble. And also, I was surprised that there is Brown Trout in Urban Boise River!

But it was only my regret to miss a good fish once(at least 16inch).
