Preparaton #3

Because of heavy rain this early morning, we had to change our original fishing trip plan from two days to one day. And according to his experience, something bulky black one should be killer pattern after rain. Please let us go fishing tomorrow, god.

Feeling of orange

When I tied Stimulator last week, noticed that I didn't have any orange material.
Speaking of Stimulator, its color should be orange basically in my memory.
Orange is one of my favorite color also, so please give me a luck soon.

TOYAMA; DAY 2

We stayed at the HOTEL in TONAMI city.

We didn't see any other fishermen there today.
Hoping that it will be good day.

Can you find my first fish?

It was hard to walk across the river without wet.

My beautiful second fish.
It was my last one in the daytime because of two mistakes...

We left this river with much disappointment.
Considering our poor skill, other something must be wrong there.

Moved to the river C, and waited until it will stop raining.

First fish by attractor.

Second one, #10 Stimulator was my only hit fly there.

3rd one by same only pattern.
I'd just ignored the hatch after countless try & error.
You are loser, Lance...

Maybe I forgot to try spinner pattern.
It was too difficult to find the answer though, it is fly fishing itself.
I'm thinking of next destination...

TOYAMA; DAY 1

Curryman and I left for TOYAMA Fridays night. And It took 5.5h there. It was our only pity that our friend and supreme fishing guide ICHIGO couldn't join us this weekend.
I decided to tie the terrestrial pattern first by this young hopper.

There were many other fishermen...

Walking curryman with the supreme guide book in his right hand.

I could catch the first and second fish within several casts.
Looked like fantastic start!

Curryman's shooting.

#14 parachute was seemed to be good choice.

Nice catch!

My late third one, and it was the last fish in a daytime.

Evening, moved to another river.

#10 stimulator gave me this 33cm IWANA(my new record)!
Though it was not match the hatch, I was so glad to see him.

Long 25h fishing trip

My fishing friend and teacher and the craziest... ICHIGOU invited me to his home river B today.

I left home 1:50 AM and after 6.5 hours drive and 1 hour rest, met him there around 8:30 AM.

Beautiful mountain and stream, loved it!

After going up by foot for a while, started fishing around 9:30AM.

10:44
My late first IWANA(char), because of countless mis-hooking...

It was my first experience of sight fishing for wild IWANA. So exciting game was it.

11:32AM, first good one(28cm) after several small ones.

Sometimes we were forced to climb up for moving.

12:59 PM, caught by sight fishing. He attacked to my dry fly so strong.

After short lunch, there were several rises at the same hole which we caught some before lunch.

14:08 PM, 2nd 28cm nice one. Looked like so wild.

14:10 ICHIGOU's SHAKU-GAMI 32cm. Gorgeous!!

This was a famous hole for us called curryman's pool before.

And now it changed to Lance's pool today. 30.3cm my first SYAKU-IWANA there with ICHIGOU's great help(14:38).

15:26, we moved back to the parking for evening fishing at his home river C. ORURI, Blue-and-white Fly catcher said good bye to me.

His home river C was also crazy! Only one fish I caught there in the evening because of lots of mistakes, but liked there so much!

I couldn't stop fishing until 20:00 after all, and arrived home 3:10 AM... 25h fishing trip, my longest fishing trip record! Crazy Lance.

Anyway, thank you for everything, ICHIGOU, and hope that see you soon there. Soon?

Fishing Trip to ITOSHIRO

Our friend ICHIGOU invited us, curryman and me, to ITOSHIRO Catch & Release section today.
Hope this morning swallow give us a luck.

USUBA_AGEHA butterfly. I showed this pic to my daughter later, because new to her.

We left NUMAZU about 4:30 AM and arrived there around 9AM. Curryman was checking today's river condition first.

We can find many fishes easily.
The fishermen’s cooperative of this river never released adult fish, which means those fishes are reproducing by themselves. What a healthy river it is!

ICHIGOU and S-san helped us a lot, as experts of this river.
Since I didn't have many experiences at Japanese mountain stream yet, every their know-how was new to me.

At first pool hole, I got this IWANA trout by spent dun pattern.

Not bad start.

Cream sparkle dun as ICHIGOU's advise gave me this beautiful one. It worked so well , definitely today's hit fly.

Beautiful stream and good folks surround fresh green.

This dark dun (one of MADARA mayfly species?) was in third one's stomach. I was surprised by the number of aquatic insects species there, when I checked the website later.

I could catch 4 fishes only before the evening, because of many mistakes... Sorry, S-san.

Can you see many spinners in the sky on right pic? These FUTASUJI_MONKAGEROU mayflies were a sign of great evening's start.

I added 5 more fishes in the evening by huge white parachute. Lots of thanks for ICHIGOU & S-san, it was so great day for me.

As an addition, KIIRO_KAWAKAGEROU mayfly's male spinner on vending machine. New to me.
