Silver March Brown; my first try for it

After 2.5months interval, Silver March Brown wet fly was my first tying theme.

Because of its simpleness, it was so difficult to keep each material's balance, especially for small hook size like #12,14.

They are not in perfect shape yet, but I hope they work fine in near future.

It is a very attractive fly. I am curious, does it lay flat on the water's surface? Or sink below the surface like a nymph?
Is the wing material partridge?
thanks,

Thank you for your comment, David. Yes,it should be used just below the surface like caddis emerger as general, I believe.

And material of wing is turkey quill this time, but usually hen pheasant quill seems to be used as standard. Partridge is used as tail and hackle.

I hope this answer helps you.

Yes, that answers my question. I think this pattern would work very well on the rivers in North Carolina. I want to try to tie this fly.
thanks,

I'm glad to hear that. But I noticed my fly's wing was too long compared with the shank length(likely should be 1.5times). Please keep it in your mind.
