TANUKI to KODANUKI

12:20 Arrived at TANUKIKO lake.
We were planning to hike all major trail around Mt. FUJI.
Today's route was TANUKIKO Lake to KODANUKI Marsh.

We had to walk at an easy pace because of her slow pace...

13:23 Entrance of KODANUKI Marsh.

ASAMA_FURO

KATORIYANMA?

TSURIFUNESO

14:57 Back to TANUKIKO Lake.

We could see OSAWA_KUZURE clearly today.
Difficult to be in focus on it...

Having relaxed time on the grass. Where is next destination?

Early bird fishing late summer

Sunrise time is getting late, about 5:30.
I thought early morning might be good time now in late summer,
I meant 'not early fall yet'.

Still spider's net interrupted me a lot...

White body's mayfly, AKAMADARA?

Large sized spinner was seen first time recently.
Fall must be just around the corner.

Thank you for coming as my only one fish this morning.

8:30-11:00AM Fishing

I took a day off to take care of kids from noon. From noon? Take your time in the morning, Lance.
8:23 Got started. Quite long interval for this river.

Tied spider's pattern first.

Cricket could be main drifter here in Japan?
I got some reactions from fish though, it looked like my fly didn't match their preference.

This small mayfly might be key this season.
Many spinners were caught on spider's net. Changed fly to the small black parachute one.

9:34 I'm so sorry for hooking you.

MOKUZUGANI crab were busy for feeding the moss.

Fall is just around the corner.

I missed two good one's bite, mantis.
How could I be a good catcher like you?

Our three's short trip

It was my wife's last working day this year, so we three have been there today.

13:23 Let's play, girls!

Dad, we have to wait 30min!

Three goats?

14:43 It has begun to rain.

I was silly dad, my sugar...

Getting hard, are you OK my sweetie?

15:09 We had to take shelter from the heavy rain for a while.
Our first September's weekend was something like that.

Memorandum to the next climbing

We got three letters today from the top of Mt. FUJI. 1st one to our daughter from us, 2nd one to my wife from me and 3rd one to me from my wife. Should be good commemoration for us all.

By the way, I would like to leave some memorandums about climbing Mt.FUJI to the next year.

  1. 2.5 liter water should be needed for me and 1.5 liter for my wife.
  2. Warning of sunburn around the neck, especially between the bandanna and the crew neck.
  3. Should have more spare clothes.
  4. To avoid the  hunger before climbing, to avoid eating too much stuff during climbing and around the summit.
  5. Don't be afraid of the mountain sickness too much, Lance.
Have a nice and safety climbing next year, Lance.

DAY2(0826'12) go down from the top; Mt. FUJI

11:08 It is time to go down.
We picked the GOTNEBA route.

To descend seeing clouds below.

1st section was steep and craggy space.

11:14 Beautiful sea of clouds.

12:01 The color of rocks changed to the brick-red.

12:05 the 8th station

12:55 The view of summit looked like different from the one of yesterday.

Getting close to the cabin.

13:28 the 7th station's cabin.

Still nice weather.

Famous OSUNABASHIRI
down mountain trail starts here the 7th station.

Fun to go down! Just like a skiing.

14:34 Heavy foggy around here.

15:36 Goal at the GOTENBA trail new 5th station.
No rain, no thunder, no accident, our memorial first climbing was so lucky.
Hopefully would like to try another route next year.
