Wood River Campground; Daughter and Father's first overnight trip

I'd decided already the first camping destination this year. It was a 'Wood River Campground' along famous Big Wood River. According to my estimation, it should have take about three hours one way. And Ketchum resort sightseeing must have been one of our fun, since we'd never been there. Then, Big Wood River had been one of my fly fishing destination, it would be first visit for me. I wished a little I had a fun with the Green Drake's hatch.

However, that morning, we had a kind of accident. My wife caught a bad cold and likely was not able to go camping. I thought we had to give it up to go there today.

But my daughter never would like to give it up. And she said, 'I wanna go camping today, even mom can't go there .' I asked her, 'Which means, can you go there and spend night with me only?' She answered 'Yes, sure daddy!'. Though I asked her twice, her answer never changed...

Wow, I wondered how to do that. However I decided to try that. It was definitely our first overnight trip.

About 11:20, we left Fred Meyer buying some food stuff. And we reached the destination just after 3hours.

Her first job was helping to post the fee envelop. Not bad start.

My first job was to cook our late lunch.

It was typical American Hot Dog. Our starving made it good one.
Although I had to do all preparation for camping by myself, I could feel good with her.

Then it was fishing time! Small trail led us to the river soon.

She'd been looking forward to fishing with me.(It is not my bullshit, guys!)

She was doing so hard.

There was no major hatch and rise, so I had to give the Green Drake's one.

Though I got several attacks with a kind of attractor, I succeeded to set a hook only one. He was so fast that I couldn't loose my left hand's line before he rushed. Then I got my tippet break, gosh!

I saw his awesome body, especially his red band was marvelous...

We enjoyed camping night.
I thought she did so well for everything today.

New Lens!

I bought it on impulse at summer sale!

But it must bring me lots of fun with my EOS Kiss Digital.

This is my first shot today. Not bad, isn't it?
I think I must have found a new pleasure to take a wild life at Camping or something like that.

Still need something...

River; South Fork of Boise River(below Anderson Ranch Reservoir) Stream flow; 1800 cfs Weather; Pretty Sunny/98F(37C) Hatch; Still Caddis Hooked; 4 Caught; 3

Now summer is in full swing here, it was almost one hundred degrees Fahrenheit today.

I still saw a bunch of Caddis, but I didn't know whether they were just hatched or laying eggs.

At first, I missed several rises of good one. I didn't know the reason why, fly pattern, size... But it was true that I still need something to get big boy's rise by match the hatch.

This was the second one, caught by Elk Hair Caddis #18(19inches/49cm).

Although I was really happy to catch him, I couldn't have a confidence to identify what they were feeding now.

Maybe my choice was correct. Because I could catch another one(14inches/35cm) just after this one with same fly.

I did succeed in setting hook the fourth one, but it was hooked off soon because of this bent hook.

Anyway I need more skill up for everything... But it is a kind of fun also, that is fly fishing.

Caddis; Importance of Size

River; South Fork of Boise River(below Anderson Ranch Reservoir) Stream flow; 1780 cfs
Hatch; Bunch of Caddis! Hooked; 2 Caught; 1

I finally came here! It was definitely my place!! I was just happy only to come certain fly fishing river. There were many trucks for the boat fishing.

Although I expected some Salmonfly hatch, I didn't see any.

Instead of it, there were a bunch of Caddis! It likely first time for me to see such a huge amount.

Until this trip, I thought that Caddis was not difficult. But I realized it was my silly thought at that time.

Yes, there were some rises for them, and I could see some big boy, 20inches over, rose them.
I was pretty sure that I would catch soon, but any fly pattern which I had didn't work well, including Emerger and Nymph dropper.

I realized it was because of size difference between my fly and actual Caddis. They looked like #16 or #18.

I had only a tiny one like them. After several try and error, I got luck.

This average one(17inches/43cm) gave me a lot of learning.

I should be back again soon.

JULIA DAVIS Park 100th Anniversary

JULIA DAVIS Park is our most favorite park in Boise. Maybe most of people here feel so.

It likely her husband donated his farm to the Boise City for her wife, Julia Davis just a hundred years ago.

So today we had a 100 years celebration here.

There were many stalls which treat arts, handicrafts and food. Every participator looked enjoying their own time, just relax.

Some apples, a kind of symbol for this park, were served freely. It was yummy, I liked it.

She was just frolicking.

She also joined in chalk art on the concrete.

It must be a lot of fun!

Father's Day

It likely the same day as Father's Day between US and Japan.

We had a chance to go to Emmett to pick the cherry with my colleague's family. I heard it was one of annual event around here.

It was best day for cherry picking, a kind of comfortable.

She wildly picked them a lot!

After we returned our home, she gave me a fantastic present as a Father's Day.

I really liked them, sweetie!

Trip to Florida; Disney Magic Kingdom (Orlando)

Our hotel location saved us the time to move. It took about 10min or less!

It was good weather today also. Through our stay in Florida, we had a nice, stable sunshine and a little wind everyday. Very comfortable.

It was one of her favorite to be given hug by Disney Characters. I thought Winnie the Pooh was in her best 3.

This scene reminded me of LA Disney Trip. I felt her rapid and healthy growth.

She was in Minnie's Country House. It must be her dream house!

Anyway we had fantastic time in Florida together, that was it!

But I'm getting to miss my fishing pole. Maybe soon...

Trip to Florida; Disney Animal Kingdom (Orlando)

According to Mapquest, it seemed to take about four hours between Miami and Orlando by car. Which meant we had to wake up very early and leave Miami for Orlando.

We left our hotel approximately 6:30AM, and made use of Florida's Turnpike(Toll). Though it took about $14, yet it was very comfortable.

I was surprised by its service area. It was equipped very well like Japanese one.

On the way to Orlando, I was bothered by black flying bug because of its breeding season. Like above pic, my car's windshield became dirty soon.

I found a kind of unique equipment like right pic. It helped a lot, but it came dirty back again very soon...

The entrance of Disney Animal Kingdom at Orlando.

Their unique beat attracted my daughter and me a lot.

She really liked to see their parade. It must be great time for her.

Trip to Florida; Miami Beach (Miami)

It was hard to remember for me, when we visited the beach last time.

She likely excited a little bit.

It was good day to spend a time at the Miami beach, not so hot, not cold. Maybe a little windy weather helped us to feel comfortable.

Although she was scared of surf a little bit at first, she could enjoy
her first sea bathing finally.

After our beach time, we walked along the Lincoln Road. There were many shops and restaurants.

The beer gave me a lot of fun! It was good summer day for us.

Trip to Florida; Everglades (Miami)

We'd been thinking of the trip to Florida since a long time ago, and could do that using saved mileage in spite of unexpected moving. We should have relaxed time as a reward of hard moving.

Because of the ticket, we had to stay Denver on 1st day. 2nd day, we arrived at Orlando FL, and moved to Miami.
Now it was OK to go the Everglades national park today.

At Royal Palm; Anhinga Trail

There was a paved trail around the pond.

I didn't know there was the exotic fish species problem also there.

A soft shelled turtle surprised us a lot. He was so close to us.

We could see wild alligator also! It was a kind of exciting for me.

He looked like almost dinosaur.

What a colorful hopper was it! It must be one of food chain of great Everglades.

At Flamingo ; Boat tour

We joined the boar tour at Flamingo, to see the wildlife and the mangrove forest.

Do you know that the 'mangrove' means not unique specie but a general term of the plant, which lives at mixed area of seawater and fresh water. I didn't know that.

It was hard to distinguish which part was branch or root, but was very unique.

It was lucky for us to see some American Crocodile. He was bigger than the alligator.

We enjoyed the Everglades's rich nature fully. If you like wildlife or such a kind of things, it is definitely 'must go' destination.

Almost Done

Good bye our big red house.

Our movement's almost done.
She likely was interested to see how they carried the package.

We need to take a rest well.

Start to move in...

Last weekend, we started move in with the smallest stuff except for my daughter's.

The rest of stuff should be handled by moving company this Thursday.

We have to pack all the rest until that, terrible...

My daughter displayed her toys around the window of new house, she is always happy girl.

Moving out...

My house's owner lost my house, and it was sold by auction. Then we had to move out again, it was second time for us here Boise.

We felt that was just renting a house. As long as we rent a house, it can be happened such a kind of thing. It's hard to keep forward-looking for us...

Put out buds

She was given a seeding at her school, as one of science study.

It is her routine work to water it every morning.
